- Description
- A sepia toned photographic postcard of a caravan of dromedary camels pulling a wagon of men. Ten of the eleven camels are standing side-by-side with one camel tethered at the rear to the wagon. Nine men stand upright in the wagon. They are mostly wearing western wear except for two men; one wearing a uniform with a pith helmet, and the other wearing a uniform with a service cap. Two of the men in civilian wear are wearing slouch hats with one side curled up to the crown. Three men stand in front of the wagon. The man at the front of the group is wearing a uniform with jodhpurs and a pith helmet and the man on the far right is wearing a slouch hat. Behind the caravan are four mounted men, also wearing uniforms with pith hats and service caps. A man in black trousers, a black vest, a white shirt, and a brimmed hat stands with his hands in his pockets, at the front of the caravan. The reverse is white with black ink text. The text [POST CARD] is written across the top with a double line between the two words. Below are sections for [This Space for communication] on the left, and [The address to be written here] on the right divided by a short. vertical, double line down the center. At the top right is a stamp box. The postcard is blank.
