Description
A sepia toned photographic postcard title “NO 47-X JESS STAHL ON SHARKEY BURNS ORE 1914.” The image depicts American rodeo star and cowboy Jesse Stahl riding a bucking bull named Sharkey in Burns, Oregon, taken in 1924 by Rufus W. Heck. Stahl and Sharkey are at the center of the image, both depicted in profile. Stahl leans back in saddle and his hands between his legs, holding onto the saddle. He is wearing medium-toned trousers, a long sleeve shirt, and a wide brimmed hat with an open crown. White, handwritten, negative printed text that reads [NO 47-X / JESS STAHL / ON / SHARKEY / BURNS ORE 1924 / Photo by Heck]. In the background is a man on horseback on the far right. A wooden fence rail lines the arena with some men on horseback behind it. On the far left is a short tower topped with a water barrel. The reverse is white with black ink text. It is in a landscape orientation. The text [POST CARD] is written in outlined letters across the top. Below are sections for [CORRESPONDENCE] on the left, and [ADDRESS] on the right divided by a short vertical line down the center. At the top right is an AZO stamp box.
