Description
A sepia-toned photographic postcard of a man in western wear standing in front of a window. The image is in a portrait orientation. The man is depicted in full length, standing slightly right of center, looking towards the viewer with his arms at his side. He is wearing a light-toned long sleeve shirt with two pockets with button flaps over the chest. A kerchief is tied around his neck and there are gloves on his hands. His light-toned trousers have fringe running down the sides and front pockets with button flaps and there is a wide belt draped over his hips. The man has short cropped hair and holds a cigarette in his mouth. In the background is an open, window with ornate grilles. The lower panel of the windowpane swinging inwards, behind the cowboy. Below the window are two sacks on the floor. The image has a white border. The reverse is white with black printed text. It reads [POST CARD] across the top center in outlined text and there is a black ink stamp box along the right edge of a partial diamond and partial text above and below that reads [DEFE]. There is a short vertical line down the center. The postcard features handwritten text that reads [TOM NEAL SALALE[?] / of CAMP FRANCIS (?) / France[?] / 1917]. At the top left corner is handwritten blue text that reads [K[?] Sh] and a price, [22 50[underlined]], handwritten in pencil at the top corner.
