Description
A sepia toned photographic postcard of a man and a seated woman in western wear posing in front of a studio backdrop. The postcard is in a portrait orientation. The woman is depicted seated on the right side of the image, and the man stands next to her on the left. The woman sits on a small wooden chest. She is wearing a medium-toned long skirt with fringe at the hem, a dark puffy sleeved blouse, elaborately pattered leather bracers on her forearms, and a wide brimmed hat with a turned up brim. On her lap is an empty holster attached to the front her ammunition cartridge belt. The man stands next to her in a contrapposto pose, with his weight on his proper left leg and his other foot held slightly forward. He has his proper left hand resting on the seated woman’s back and his proper right hand is holding a pistol by its barrel and cylinder. He wears dark trousers, a leather double holster belt, a light-toned shirt, a medium-toned tie under a patterned neck kerchief, pattered leather bracers on his forearms, and a wide brimmed hat with a turned up brim. His hat is tipped to one side and a cigarette dangles from the proper left side of his mouth. In the background is a painted fabric photographic backdrop of a countryside. The image has a white border. The reverse is white with black paper remnants adhered to most of the surface. It is in a landscape orientation. Printed along the left edge is partially visible printed text that reads [THE VIOLET[?] [---?]]. At the top right is a partially visible PMO stamp box. There is an orange circular sticker in the top left corner with black handwritten text that reads [892].
