- Description
- A black-and-white photographic postcard of three men, a bartender and two patrons, in a bar. One of the men, the bartender, stands behind a long wooden bar. He wears a dark vest over a white collared shirt with a light-toned tie. He rests his proper left hand on the bar and holds his other arm at his side. Behind the bartender are two large semicircular mirrors mounted on the wall and a backbar covered with various shaped bottles and a cash register at the center. On the far side of the bar is a glass front cabinet with shelves lined with bottles. The reflection of the three men are visible in the mirror on the far right side of the image. On the other side of the bar, the two patrons stand at the far end of the bar. One man wears a dark suit with white large buttons running down the front, a dark overcoat, a dark derby hat, and a patterned bowtie. He is leaning against the bar, resting his proper left elbow on the bar and his proper left foot on the bar footrest. Behind him is another man, also leaning against the bar. He is wearing a medium-toned button down shirt with rolled up sleeves, exposing a white, long sleeve shirt below. He is also wearing an open black vest and trousers, and a black hat with a medium-toned band. In the background is a wallpapered wall with dark wood wainscoting. Hanging on the wall are framed and unframed notices, certificates, and advertisements, such as one for Finks Cream Ale. The image has a white border. The reverse has a landscape orientation and is white with black ink text. The text [POST CARD] is written in outlined letters across the top. Below are sections for [CORRESPONDENCE HERE] on the left, and [NAME AND ADDRESS HERE] on the right divided by a short vertical line down the center. At the top right is an AZO stamp box. The postcard is blank.
