- Description
- A black-and-white photographic postcard titled “’MAUD’ WYOMING STATE FAIR DOUGLAS 1910.” The image depicts a track at the 1910 Wyoming State Fair. At the center of the track is a bucking mule and a man who has been thrown off and captured mid-fall. Several other men, dressed in western wear, race towards the falling man from all directions. The track is lined with a fence rail on the right. Behind the railing is a large group of male onlookers on horseback. The men are all in western wear with brimmed hats. In the front left foreground, also behind the rail, are two male onlookers standing with their arms resting on the rail and their heads turned towards the mule. In the background on the left, is a short white fence that ends at another fence rail. Behind the fence rail is another large group of onlookers standing and on horseback. The left side of the track is also lined with utility poles. At the bottom center of the postcard is white text that reads [“MAUD” / WYOMING STATE FAIR / DOUGLAS 1910]. The bottom edge of image has a white, irregular border. The reverse is white with black ink text. The text [POST CARD] is written in outlined letters across the top. Below are sections for [CORRESPONDENCE HERE] on the left, and [NAME AND ADDRESS HERE] on the right divided by a short vertical line down the center. At the top right is an AZO stamp box. The postcard is blank.
