The border of the stereograph is yellow and has maker information printed in black on each side of the card. The left side text reads: [Published by Holmes & Jarvis / 467 Pennsylvania Avenue, Washington, D.C.]. The right side text reads: [Artistic Stereo Views / of Washington and Vicinity / D. B. Holmes Photographer]. The back of the card has a list of [Views of Washington, District of Columbia] printed in black ink, a blue sticker, and a handwritten inscription that reads: [Colored Soldiers].
