- Description
- This black and white photograph depicts a sodalist with a crucifix at St. Augustine High School. The young boy on the extreme left, wearing a checkered sweater over a collared shirt, holds a crucifix in his right hand. Opposite him, a young man, wearing a long robe over a shirt and tie, extends his left hand to receive the crucifix. The figures, turned three-quarters away from the camera, are standing in front of a class of seated young boys. One boy is holding up a book with the title "The Baltimore Catechism." The group is in a room with pendant light fixtures and two windows. In the photographs margins is text "N.O. La St. Augustine H.S. 1961 sodalists CCD." On the verso is a stamp that reads "Josephite Harvest, photo by ______." The blank is filled in with a handwritten name "Rev. Charles Hall, SSJ." Below is a hand written note in red ink "Sodalists of St. Augustine's H.S. in New Orleans/ "Renewal" Jan 1962 issue JH." At the photograph's edges are "1A58D15" and "1A58D15A."
