- Description
- This black and white photograph of sodalists at St. Augustine High School depicts a room of nine young men seated in two rows, opposite a man in a priest's cassock sitting with his back to the viewer and an open book in front of him. There is a narrow table between him and the young men. A small pile of books sits at the left hand side of the table. One of the young men, wearing a striped suit, is holding one of these books. The young men are dressed in light colored button down or polo shirts and dark pants. There is a door and a window behind them, and a crucifix on the wall. In the photograph's margins is text that reads "N.O. La St. Augustine's H.S. sodalists 1961." On the verso is a stamp "JOSEPHITE HARVEST/ Photo by_______." The blank is filled in with a handwritten name "Rev. Charles Hall, SSJ." Below is a hand written note in red ink "Sodalists of St. Augustine's H.S. in New Orleans and /meditation and conference. “Renewal" Jan 1962 issue JH." At the photograph's edges is "1A58D15B."
