Description
Union County Meet medal awarded to Eulace Peacock in 1935. The medal consists of a gold toned bar pin holding a red and white striped ribbon. The pin has a “C” clasp closure on the back and a bar that holds the ribbon. The ribbon is crimped to the front of the bar on either side. Attached to the bottom of the ribbon is an octagonal, gold colored medal held in place with two (2) jump rings. In a circular frame in the center of the obverse of the medal is a relief depiction of three (3) male athletes depicted in profile. All three athletes are nude and a facing the left side of the medal. They are standing on their proper left legs, with their proper right legs held horizontally to the ground behind them. Their proper right arms are extended in front of them and they hold their proper left arms their sides. The background surface of the metal is leather textured. The center of the reverse of the medal is inscribed ['35 / UNION COUNTY / MEET / SPRINT SERIES]. Along the bottom edge is a stamped maker’s mark that reads, [BRADSHAW / NEWARK / N.J.].
