Just above Horne’s proper left shoulder is the model’s credit with a caption in white ink, that reads [LENA HORNE: / She rates No. 1 / among the sexiest / Negro women] and the associated cover line running along the bottom of the cover in an orange banner that reads [THE WORLD’S SEXIEST / NEGRO WOMEN] in white type.
