Description
Negro Digest, volume 1, number 10. Featured articles include, [What Now for the Negro?] by Paul Robeson, [Africa at the Peace Table] by W. E. B. Du Bois, and [What America Means to Me] by Pearl Buck in the book section. The front cover has a maroon banner with the mast head at top that reads [NEGRO DIGEST] in centered, white block lettering. A dark yellow, vertical banner runs down the binding edge, with a white circle with [25¢] printed in the center in maroon type. The main body of front cover is an off-white field with maroon type, with the subtitle of the magazine, [A Magazine Of Negro Comment], centered at the top, between two dark yellow lines in maroon type. The rest of the off-white field features the table of contents of the magazine, including a roundtable discussion, twenty-six (26) articles and a book section with corresponding authors and page numbers listed. There is a maroon banner at the bottom with [AUGUST 1943] centered in white type. This magazine issue has ninety-eight (98) pages, are off-white with black type throughout, and has some graphics and black and white images included. The back cover has a thin maroon banner running along the top, and a thin yellow banner running along the bottom. Centered below the maroon banner is an off-white field with a title printed at the top that reads [Extra Money For You] followed by four (4) paragraphs of text below.
