The front cover features a black-and-white image of two men conversing on a sidewalk, in front of a low brick wall. The man on the left is facing the viewer and is also looking downwards at the item in the hands of the man on the right. He wears overalls, a jacket, and a cap and holds his arms behind his back. In the background is a low brick wall on the left with low plants in front of it and a taller structure on the right, with larger bushes in front of it. Printed over the sidewalk area on the far left is small black text that reads [politics ’72: / grass-roots organizing…. / voter registrations, political education…. / political coalitions….]. Printed in the top third of the front cover is the masthead on the left that reads, [SOUL / force], and the date on the right that reads, [JULY / 1971]. The back cover is formatted like a post card, with a subscription form. The newsletter is fifteen (15) pages and includes articles and black and white images throughout.
