- Description
- A color photograph of a barber and client at Jerry's Den barbershop in Harlem.
- The image depicts the barber on the left, facing the camera and holding clippers up to his client, who is sitting with his back to the camera. The barber wears a red collared shirt over a black long-sleeve shirt and red-framed glasses with snakeskin accents. He has carved the shape of a basketball player into the back of the client's hair. The client wears a black barber shop cape around his shoulders. Elements of the interior of the shop, a potted plant, a wood paneled wall, and a sign above a mirror, are visible in the dim background. A handwritten inscription beneath the image reads ["JERRY'S DEN" HARLEM '89] along with the photographer's signature [Ricky Powell / '03].
