- Description
- This terracotta sculpture depicts the head and neck of a young woman. With short hair brushed back from her face, the head rests on a long neck column that widens at the base. Her hair covers the upper part of her ears; the lower lobes are visible. The eyes are empty holes between the lids. She faces forward. The neck column is hollow, lined with cloth. There are several pieces of wood wedged into the cavity. The sculpture has been broken in the past and has been repaired. The resulting cracks are evident throughout.
