Description
Wood panel with various tools attached. In the center of the plank is a metal plaque with engraved text [TO SKCM BILL GOINES / FROM THE OFFICERS AND MEN OF / SEAL TEAM TWO / A BOARD SHOWING THE TOOLS / OF YOUR TRADE SO YOU NEVER / FORGET WHAT YOU USE TO DO / PLANK OWNER SEAL TEAM TWO 8 JAN. 1962 TO NOV. 1981]. Above the plaque is a large hole near the top. On either side of the hole is a round of ammunition. To the left of the hole is an 8mm round nose bullet. To the right of the hole is a spire point bullet. In the upper left corner of the plank is a pair of wings in gold with an open parachute in the center. The wings are diagonally oriented. In the upper right corner of the plank is the emblem of the United States Navy Seals in gold metal. On the left side of the plank is metal rip cord handle. The cord attaching to the handle is curved around the surface of the plank, running up across the top, curving down on the right side and down along the bottom. Attached to the end of the cord are smaller metal points. On the right side of the plank, right of the rip cord handle and left of the plaque, are two (2) larger, spire point bullets. Below the plaque above the end of the rip cord is a large bowie knife. Inscribed on the knife blade above the hilt are letters [U.S.N.]. The blade faces to the left. To the right of the plaque and left of a portion of the parachute rip cord is one-half of a grenade. The grenade body, of cast iron, is cut in half and mounted to the plank with the fuse, pin, and ring attached to the top. The fuse handle is on the left. Attached the right side, left of the parachute cord, is a pair of wire clippers. The clippers are mounted opened. On the reverse are three (3) vertical supports attached to the plank with screws. Attached to the outside supports is a wire for hanging the plaque. The front of the plank is varnished while the back remains unvarnished.
