- Description
- This stereograph card depicts a group of people picking cotton. There are two young boys wearing hats in the foreground. In the background is a man carrying a wicker basket of cotton on his right shoulder. The stereograph card consists of two similar images side by side, with the images in the center of the card. At either end of the card is vertical script. On the left side margin is script that reads "J.F. Jarvis, Publisher, / Washington D.C." On the right side is script that reads "Sold only by Underwood & Underwood, / New York, London, Toronto Canada, Ottawa-Ka[illegible]." Along the bottom margin is text that reads "Away Down Among "de Cotton and de Coons," Louisiana, U.S.A. / [illegible] 1892 by Underwood & Underwood." There is text on the back that reads "Away Down among "de Cotton and de Coons." Louisiana, U.S.A./ Au milieu du Coton et des Negres, Louisiane, Etats-Unis./ Unter Bau[illegible] und Negern, Louisiana, B.[illegible]./ En el Sur entre el Algodon y los Negros, Louisiana, E U de A./ Langt ne'r ibiand "Bomulla och Svartingar," Louisiana, U.S.A./ [text in Greek]."
