- Description
- This stereograph card depicts the exterior of a building with armed troops standing in front. Part of the building exterior is a storefront with the words "Price, [illegible] /Dealers in Slaves" over the door and front windows. The rest of the building has a lower roof, and a high blank wall with no windows or doors. In front of the building is a horse and wagon next to a tree, and a number of soldiers in uniform. The stereograph card consists of two similar images side by side, with the images in the center of the card. At either end of the card is vertical text. On the left side margin is text that reads "THE WAR FOR THE UNION." on the right side margin is text that reads "PHOTOGRAPHIC HISTORY." On the back of the card is text that reads "WAR VIEWS. / Slave Pen, Alexandria, Va. / No. 2300 [crossed out] 2296. [written above]/ Published by E. & H.T. Anthony & CO., / American and Foreign Stereoscopic Emporium, 501 Broadway, New-York/ Negative by Brady, Co., Washington."
