Description
Red jacket similar in appearance to one worn by dancer Thomas "Tom Tom" Evans on the television show "Soul Train."
The jacket is a collarless, double-breasted blazer. The exterior of the jacket is made from a red polyester twill. On the front of the jacket is one (1) small inset pocket on the upper proper left chest, and two (2) large inset pockets with rectangular flap closures on the lower proper left and lower proper right fronts. The jacket closes at the center front with two round gold buttons in a single row. The exterior back of the jacket has side vents and a shorter center vent. The full-length sleeves have a slit cuff that is sewn closed. At each cuff are four (4) small round gold decorative buttons. The front closure and cuff buttons have the same embossed design of two concentric rings. The outer ring contains the symbols of the zodiac, while the inner ring contains four fleurs-de-lis.
The interior is lined with red rayon fabric. The lining is edged with white fabric and white top stitching. There is one (1) interior breast pocket on the proper left front, one (1) interior breast pocket on the proper right front, and one (1) interior pocket at the proper right waist. The openings of these inset pockets are trimmed with white fabric. A red plastic button is sewn below the opening of the right front breast pocket. Perspiration pads made of the lining material are sewn at the bottom of the armholes. Shoulder pads are attached between the exterior fabric and the lining.
