Description
A paperback edition of Pilot Training School: Tuskegee Institute, Tuskegee Institute, Alabama. The full title, with both subtitles, is printed in white block text across two red banners at the top and bottom of the front cover that reads [PILOT TRAINING SCHOOL / TUSKEGEE INSTITUTE / TUSKEGEE INSTITUTE, ALABAMA] and [A PICTURE BOOK OF FLYING TRAINING ACTIVITIES IN / THE DIVISION OF AERONAUTICS, TUSKEGEE INSTITUTE]. The front covers centrally features a black-and-white image six (6) men in dress uniform marching towards the left side of the image down a tree-line street. Three (3) men stand in a line in the foreground of the image, with the center man holing a United States flag. Visible behind the front row is a second row of two (2) men and third row of one (1) man. In the top left corner of the image is black, block text that reads [U.S. ARMY AIR FORCES / TRAINING EDITION]. In the bottom right corner of the image is black, block text that reads [MAY, 1944]. The book features black-and-white images and text depicting barracks life, ground work, a field day athletic competition, aircraft maintenance, flight instruction, the 2211th Base Unit, a history of Tuskegee Institute, and the history of pilot training at Tuskegee.
