- In this photograph a soldier is shaving another soldiers head. One soldier is seated with his right leg crossed over his left leg. His hands are resting on his thigh and he has a cigarette in his mouth. His hat is hanging on a wooden post to his right. The other soldier stands behind. His hands are raised and he is holding the razor blade in this right hand. He is wearing his uniform and hat and is pursing his lips. The Signal Corps USA logo is in the bottom left corner of photograph. The number [39549] is written next to the logo. The words ["A Close Shave" - 317th Supply Train, Belleville, Meuse / Oct. 12, 1918] are written at the bottom inside the white border.
