- Description
- The 1957 The Sporting News NFL Player of the Year trophy awarded to Jim Brown. The large trophy consists of a football on a beveled pedestal. The trophy is made of gold-colored metal and features a plaque secured to the front of the base pedestal. The plaque has cut away corners. The etched text reads [1957 Marlboro AWARD / JIMMY BROWN / Player of the Year / NATIONAL FOOTBALL LEAGUE / As Selected by / The Sporting News]. The paint is peeled off in several spots on the base. The plaque also has many scratches, abrasions, and places where the metal has faded.
