Description
This gelatin silver print depicts a black and white image of a baptism in Lake Michigan in Chicago. At center, a group of worshippers from the Church of God in Harvey, Illinois stand in the shallow water of the lake with waves crashing behind them. Elder Ernest J. Washington stands with his arm raised, facing the shore as waves crash behind him. Next to him, the person to be baptised stands with her head bowed and her arms folded across her chest. There are are three people standing on either side of them and one person standing directly behind them. There are no inscriptions, front or back.
