Description
A gray wool double-breasted coat with skull patches and star pins worn by Big Boi of Outkast. The coat has a notched lapel, a single center back vent, and full-length straight sleeves without cuffs. The jacket can be closed left over right or right over left, with buttonholes and buttons on both sides of the center front. Each side closes with five (5) large gray round plastic buttons impressed with an anchor design, making ten (10) buttons total. The topmost button on each side is under the folded lapel, with a slightly wider gap between it and the second topmost button. There is an inset pocket at each front side waist lined in cream cotton flannel. A small white skull and crossbones patch outlined in black is sewn at the upper portion of each sleeve just below the shoulder seam. A large white skull and crossbones patch outlined in black is sewn across the center back just below the shoulders. Two pins (b,c) of four (4) silver five-pointed stars each are attached with two butterfly pinbacks to each side of the folded collar, though one of the pinbacks for the proper right pin (c) is missing.
The interior is lined with black synthetic fabric that is quilted in a crosshatch pattern. A welt pocket with the welt made from the gray wool is sewn into each interior front side chest. The pockets are lined in cream cotton flannel. Three manufacturer's labels are sewn at the interior center back neck, with the centermost being largest. It is white with black embroidered text reading "U. S. 740 N / PEA JACKET / NAME__________ / __________ / MFG. BY SCHOTT N.Y.C." A small care tag is sewn on the left seam and a size and place of manufacture tag is sewn on the right seam of the center tag. An additional tag is sewn at the interior proper right side seam waist noting the coat was made in the United States.
