- Description
- A silver gelatin print depicting a black-and-white image of a line of participants linking hands to form a chain in front of the Lincoln Memorial at the March on Washington, August 28, 1963. Four (4) women and one (1) man are standing side-by-side with their arms crossed in front of them, holding hands in a line. Behind them is another row of men and women. The columns of the Lincoln Memorial are visible in the background.
- On the verso of the image are handwritten inscriptions that provide publication information, image date, event information, location, image number, the name of the printer, and the signature of the donor. There is also the photographer’s label as well as a stamp mark in black ink in the bottom right corner of the verso.
