- Description
- A silver gelatin print depicting a black-and-white image of a man unloading equipment from the back of a van in front of the Washington Monument at the March on Washington, August 28, 1963. The van’s rear doors are open and the man is standing with his back to the viewer with his arms reaching into the truck. Scattered in the foreground are cases and equipment. Behind the van is a raised platform with folding chairs arranged in rows.
- On the verso of the image are handwritten inscriptions that provide publication information, image date, event information, location, image number, the name of the printer, and the signature of the donor. There are also three (3) stamp marks in black ink in the bottom right corner of the verso.
