- Description
- A silver gelatin print depicting a black-and-white image of three (3) women seated on a bench by the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool during the March on Washington, August 28, 1963. The people are seated with their backs to the viewer on the right side of the image. The woman in the center is wearing a light colored hat and sunglasses. The grassy areas along the edges of the reflecting pool, and in the foreground, are heavily littered with paper debris and protest signs.
- On the verso of the image are handwritten inscriptions that provide the image date, event information, location, image number, the name of the printer, and the signature of the donor. There are also two (2) stamp marks in black ink in the bottom right corner of the verso.
