- Description
- A silver gelatin print depicting a black-and-white image of a large crowd of participants standing behind barrier fencing during in the March on Washington on August 28, 1963. Many of the people in the crowd are holding protest signs related to education, civil rights, legal reform, and jobs. There are trees and bushes in the foreground and background of the image. One man stands in a grassy area in front of the barrier fencing between two (2) large bushes.
- On the verso of the image are handwritten inscriptions that provide publication information, image date, event information, location, image number, and the signature of the photographer. There are also two (2) stamp marks in black ink in the bottom right corner of the verso.
