- Description
- A silver gelatin print depicting a black-and-white image of two (2) boys handing out newspapers during the March on Washington on August 28, 1963. Both boys are holding copies of the Washington Afro-American with the headline [They’re Pouring / In From All Over] printed on the front. The boy on the left side of the image is standing in profile looking to the right, holding a newspaper in his proper right hand. He has several more newspaper copies tucked under his proper right arm. The boy on the right side of the image is standing in three-quarters profile looking towards the right of the image, holding a newspaper in his proper right hand. Behind the boy on the right are two people holding partially obstructed picket signs in a crowd of participants.
- On the verso of the image are handwritten inscriptions that provide publication information, image date, event information, location, image number, the name of the printer, and the signature of the donor. There are also three (3) stamp marks in black ink in the bottom right corner of the verso.
