Description
A silver gelatin print depicting a black-and-white image of a crowd of participants holding protest signs during the twentieth anniversary of the March on Washington, August 27, 1983. A large protest sign depicting a [WANTED] poster of Ronald Reagan is centrally depicted. Below Reagan’s image is the text [Ronnie Reagan / ROBS THE POOR - / GIVES TO THE RICH / STEEL VALLEY UNEMPLOYED CENTER / TRI-STATE CONFERENCE / HOMESTEAD, P.A.]. On the left side of the image is a protest sign that reads [NATIONAL / CONFERENCE / OF/ BLACK LAWYERS]. In the foreground is a third protest sign depicting an illustration of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
On the verso of the image are handwritten inscriptions that provide the image date, event information, location, image number, the name of the printer, and the signature of the donor. There are also two (2) stamp marks in black ink in the bottom right corner of the verso.
