- Description
- A silver gelatin print depicting a black-and-white image of the Rev. Jesse Jackson with participants during the twentieth anniversary of the March on Washington, August 27, 1983. Jackson is depicted from the waist up facing the viewer. He is standing with his arms akimbo and looking slightly off to the right side of the image towards a man standing in profile. Jackson is wearing a dark button down shirt with decorative epaulettes on each shoulder secured with buttons near the collar, and matching decorative elements over the chest. Behind him are several standing and sitting participants. The participant standing behind Jackson on the left side of the image is a boy wearing a sleeveless t-shirt and three (3) pinback buttons on his chest.
- On the verso of the image are handwritten inscriptions that provide the image date, event information, location, image number, the name of the printer, and the signature of the donor. There are also two (2) stamp marks in black ink in the bottom right corner of the verso.
