Description
A silver gelatin print depicting a black-and-white image of a crowd of participants standing along the edge of the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool, holding a large banner and protest signs, during the twentieth anniversary of the March on Washington, August 27, 1983. The Washington Monument is centrally depicted in the background. The reflecting pool runs along the right edge of the image. In the central foreground the crowd is holding up a large banner that reads [[JO]BS PEACE FREEDOM • sclc • JOBS • PEACE • FREEDOM • / WORKING TO FULLFIL THE DREAM / THE SOUTHERN CRISTIAN LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE / MARTIN LUTHER KING JR. FOUNDER JOSEPH E. LOWERY PRESIDENT].
On the verso of the image are handwritten inscriptions that provide the image date, event information, location, image number, the name of the printer, and the signature of the donor. There are also two (2) stamp marks in black ink in the bottom right corner of the verso.
