Description
A black and white image of the March on Washington participants captured from within the crowd, looking towards the Lincoln Memorial.
The image focuses on a young man and woman in the center of the frame, who are both turning around to look behind them. The man on the left wears a light colored cap, dark jacket with a white shirt and glasses. The woman next to him wears a light colored floral print dress, a dark colored woven hat, pearl earrings and sunglasses. She has a white and black March on Washington pinback button on her proper left chest. She has several bags or purses over her proper right arm and holds a piece of paper in her left hand. They are within a large crowd of people, most of whom are looking front, towards the Lincoln Memorial. The Northeast facing corner of the Memorial is in the background and the crowd of marchers extends to the Memorial and up the steps.
