- Description
- This gelatin silver print depicts a black and white image of the interior of a New York restaurant. The restaurant has booths along both walls on the left and right and a row of tables in between. All of the tables are covered in checkered table clothes and include napkin dispensers, ketchup bottles and salt and pepper shakers. A broadside for the Apollo Theater is hanging on the rear wall above a poster advertisement for Lido Pool and next to a list of Cocktails served at the restaurant. To the right of this list is a broadside for the Negro National League game between the New York Cubans and the Chicago Giants. There are three chandeliers hanging above the four tables in the center of the restaurant. The back of the photograph has a blue stamp that reads [GG PHOTO STUDIO / 272 LENOX AVE / NEW YORK NY] in the center. The number [JVC-14493] is written along the bottom edge on the back of the photograph. The photograph is adhered to a matboard.
