- Description
- A black-and-white photograph of a group of people sitting at a large table in Hunt’s Cafe, an African American owned business in Earle, Arkansas. At the center of the photograph is a long, rectangular table with a white tablecloth. Around the table are seated eight (8) men and women, with another man crouching at the top left corner of the table. All the men wear dark colored suits and the women are wearing dresses. Behind them is a white-jacketed waiter.The table is set for a meal. Behind the table, the printed "Hunt's Cafe" sign is visible backwards printed on the outside of the dark window. To the left of the table is a counter with a cash register and metal fan. Shelves along the wall hold an assortment of bottles and packaged goods. Hunt's Cafe was located across the street from Heilig Undertaker, and the Heiligs Place bus station and store. The photograph is matted in a carboard frame, on the back is the handwritten inscription [Uncle Buddy's Pictures Don't Know Anyone].
