Description
A green dashiki with short sleeves worn by Ellsworth Janifer. The dashiki has a short standing collar with a v-shaped cutout at the center front neck. The opening has been hand-sewn with green thread so that the "v" is not as deep. There are side vents reaching approximately six (6) inches up from the hem. The fabric print is designed specifically for use with this style of garment, having an emerald green ground with colorful designs printed around the hem, sleeves, and neck in burgundy, blue, gold, brown, and cream. The design consists of geometric and stylized floral elements, with the design on the neck and around the bottom mirrored vertically from the center front and center back. There are two (2) patch pockets sewn at the front waist featuring portions of the multi-color printed part of the fabric. A manufacturer's tag was previously removed from the center back interior neckline.
