- Description
- Brimless black wool felt hat with a tall flat crown designed by Mae Reeves. An ivory passementerie detail with two beaded leaves and a cluster of dangling round fake pearls is adhered over a black satin ribbon bow at the proper right front of the hat. A black net veil is attached at the center back of the hat by a black satin ribbon bow that is tacked to the crown with black thread. The interior hat band is made from red grosgrain ribbon. An ivory fabric designer label with black printed text is adhered to the center back of the interior band that reads: "Mae Reeves / OF / PHILADELPHIA." White text for the hat form manufacturer is stamped on the interior top of the crown that reads: "MICHAEL / HOWARD / 100% WOOL". A length of masking tape is adhered to the inside top of the crown with red felt ink hand writing that reads: "VEIL-LORI".
