- Caption
- Zun Lee is an award-winning visual artist who documented a series of community portraits in Ferguson, Missouri, during October, 2014. This was a pivotal moment in the history of the Black Lives Matter movement, as Michael Brown’s death led to worldwide protests. In this photograph, Brown’s family leads a march down a major street in the city, where they later joined other protesters in front of the Ferguson Police Department. Lezley McSpadden, Michael Brown’s mother, is in the center marching hand-in-hand with her husband, Louis Head. They both wear T-shirts that read "INNOCENT BLOOD." This photograph is a statement that not only do Black Lives Matter, but Black Love Matters, as well.
