- Description
- A Track to Bobsledding Crossover medallion owned by Vonetta Flowers.
- The medallion has a red, white, and blue woven strap. There are six (6) alternating red and white vertical stripes, three of each color, going vertically up, around, and down the inside edge of the strap. The outer edge of the strap is blue with small white dots representing stars. The bottom of the strap has some loose red threads. There is a thin, circular metal ring attached to the end, which is linked to another thin, circular metal ring. The second ring is linked through a hole in the top of a cross shaped piece of metal. The cross is a dark gold color. The eight (8) outer corners are flattened inwards at a diagonal 45° angle. The edges are raised slightly higher than the body of the cross. Along the four (4) inner corners of the cross there are “L” shaped blue and red stripes extending out from the cross. Along the horizontal arms of the cross there is raised text which reads [CROSSOVER]. “CROSS” is in black and “OVER” is in red. The word is outlined in the gold metal. There is a stylized image of a bobsled underlining the word. It is black and raised, with a gold metal trim. There are also three stylized figures of a person. The first figure on the far proper right side next to the letter “C” is running with legs bent and one arm out in front and one out behind them. The middle figure is above the “SS” and is bent at the waist with both arms and legs out in front of it. The third figure is sitting at the front of the bobsled above the letter “E” and is wearing a helmet. All three figures are black and raised with a gold metal outline. There are some small scuffs and scratches on the cross.
- The back side of the cross has an engraved inscription which reads [If you’re looking for a new direction, / maybe it’s time to CROSSOVER! / Vonetta Flowers 2002 Olympic Gold Medalist].
