- Description
- This is a domed cover for a platter. Its sides rise straight upward for approximately 7.9 cm then curved inward in an indentation, before swelling outward in a rounded curve. It appears to be have been made in separate sections; the straight rise is a metal hoop that is soldered to the top dome, which is one piece. A decorative finial is attached on top as a handle. There is an Old Slave Mart Museum label on the inside of the lid that reads "R286."
