The brick is dark reddish brown in color with worn surfaces. The Old Slave Mart Museum catalog number, [R660], is handwritten in black ink over a small rectangular patch of white painted in the top right corner of one of the brick’s faces. The same face has losses along the top edge, at the bottom left corner, and the surface near the bottom left corner.
