- Description
- An English brick found on land originally a part of Yeamans Hall land grant on Goose Creek in Hanahan, South Carolina. It is a solid style rectangular brick, hand molded with a press mold. The brick is dark reddish brown in color with small deposits of white residue on the brick surfaces. The plain brick face has a tide mark of a heavy white residue covering over half of the surface. The Old Slave Mart Museum catalog number, [R153], is handwritten in black ink over a small rectangular patch of white paint in a corner of one of the faces of the brick. The brick is heavily weathered and worn on all sides with minor losses along the edges and a chipped corner at one header. The brick surfaces all have minor pitting and air bubbles.
