The brick is dark reddish brown in color with small deposits of white residue on the brick surfaces. The plain brick face has a tide mark of a heavy white residue covering over half of the surface. The Old Slave Mart Museum catalog number, [R153], is handwritten in black ink over a small rectangular patch of white paint in a corner of one of the faces of the brick.
