- Description
- A metal broadaxe head for hewing. The axe blade is curved cutting edge that ends in a rounded point at the top and a squared edge on the bottom. At the axe eye are lugs at the top and bottom that are slightly pointed. The eye ring is ovular in shape. An associated round paper tag with an aluminum edge has black ink text on the front that reads [Commonly us[ed?] / [o?]n PLANTATION / GEORGIA] on the front and [[BR?]OAD AX / USED FOR HEWIN[G?] / [L?]O[G?]S INTO SQUA[RE?] / [---?] USED to / FLOOD[?] SA[---?].
