Description
Carte-de-visite of Georgiana Willets Stradling shown in half portrait. She is seated and turned one quarter to her left, but her face is turned directly to the camera. Her hair is parted at the center and gathered into a dark colored snood behind her head. She is wearing a dark colored dress with balloon sleeves embellished with a zigzag lace detail. A white folded collar is around her neck with a large circular brooch pinned at the center front neck. A long chain is wrapped around her neck that extends down her front and dangles into her lap, with the end hidden by her hands. She has a ring on her left ring finger. Her right hand rests in her lap, while her left elbow is propped on a table with a fringed covering. There is a double-lined border printed in gold ink surrounding the outside edges of the card mount.
The back of the photograph has C.D. Fredericks & Co.'s mark with a design printed in blue ink.
The photograph is housed in the album 2017.30. The album page has a triple-lined, gold border framing the print. Handwritten in graphite inside the bottom border of the printed frame of the album page is the text "Georgy Willet". Handwritten in the lower left corner of the album page in graphite is the text "C D FREDRICKS & CO. NY, HABANA, PARIS".
