- Carte-de-visite of Isabel and Herbert Howland shown in full portrait. Isabel stands with her body turned one quarter to her left and her left hand on the shoulder of Herbert, who is seated to her left on a stool with his legs resting on the seat of a Windsor chair. Herbert is facing the camera but looks slightly off frame. Isabel wears a light colored short dress with a dark colored pinafore. Herbert wears a light colored skeleton suit. There is a double-lined border printed in gold ink surrounding the outside edges of the card mount.
