- Description
- A Grand Army of the Republic pendant owned by Marquis Peterson. The pendant is attached to a bronze watch chain. The front side of the pendant has the Massachusetts state seal and motto. The back side of the pendant has the Grand Army of the Republic seal. The seal shows a sailor and soldier next to American flags. They are shaking hands in front of Lady Liberty. A kneeling woman and a standing child with raised arms are between the sailor and soldier. Embossed lettering in a circle around the figures reads “1861 GRAND ARMY OF THE REPUBLIC VETERAN 1866.” Embossed around the seal is “GRAND ARMY OF THE REPUBLIC” again. Embossed below the seal is “ADOPTED / 1892.”
