Description
Board with two photos of Goodwin's Cleaners & Dyers, San Diego, California.
.1a A photograph depicting a man standing inside Goodwin’s Cleaners & Dyers. The man stands just right of center, arms akimbo, wearing a dark hat, bowtie, and vest with a light colored shirt and pinstripe pants. Surrounding him, racks suspended from the ceiling hold clothing items on hangers. In the bottom left foreground, bolts of cloth rest on top of an apparatus. The photograph is held in a brown cardboard frame that is adhered to the board. At the bottom right corner of the frame is raised text reading [THE STEINBACH STUDIO / SAN DIEGO, CAL.].
.1b The other side of the board has a photograph depicting the same man standing in front of the exterior of the shop. The storefront building has a large sign across the top reading [GOODWIN’S / CLEANERS & DYERS] and two large glass display windows surrounding the open front door. The windows, which reflect the buildings across the street, have been vandalized with graffiti. The photograph is adhered directly to the board. At the bottom of the board, a handwritten inscription in graphite reads [STORE VANDALIZED].
