- Description
- A testament of pay for Revolutionary War soldier Edward Carter. Handwritten in leaning print on a small square rag paper, this document certifies Carter’s three-year military service performed, 4th Regiment, based out of the Town of Colchester. It is dated January 31, 1871 and signed by Selectmen Joseph Isham, Jr., A. Groot and Daniel Groot. There are no markings on the reverse of the testament.
