- Description
- A resolution by the Georgia General Assembly commending Eugene Harmond, Delta Air Lines' first Black male flight attendant, for 43 years of service to Delta Airlines. Presented to Harmond on February 8, 2016, the resolution (b) is housed in a commemorative blue portfolio (a) with a color photograph (c).
- The folio is made of a padded, dark blue, synthetic material and is embossed on the front with the gold State of Georgia seal which reads: [STATE OF GEORGIA HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES / WISDOM JUSTICE MODERATION / 1776]. The state capitol building is depicted at the center. On the interior left of the folio is a legal-size color portrait photograph of the unseated State Assembly chamber, captured by Assembly Photographer Tyna Duckett. Below the photograph is the State of Georgia seal in gold. On the interior right of the folio is a white legal-size paper certificate of Resolution by the Assembly, honoring Eugene Harmond for his 43-year service to Delta Air Lines. The Resolution bears the State of Georgia seal at the top, and is bordered by a single light orange line. The resolution lists achievements in Harmond's life and career followed by bold text reading "Now, therefore it be resolved by the members of the House delegation to the Georgia General Assembly from DeKalb County commends Eugene Harmond for his liife's work and commitment to Delta Air Lines." The resolution is signed at the bottom by the Chairman House Delegate. There are no markings on the reverse of the certificate.
