- Description
- A wood and plexiglass commemorative plaque presented by Delta Air Lines to Patricia Grace Murphy, Delta Air Lines' first African American stewardess, in honor of more than 35 years of service.
- The paper certificate is mounted on a dark brown wood plaque and secured behind clear plexiglass. The certificate has a red and blue border and a color photograph of a Delta plane in flight above snow-capped mountatins at the top. In black and light blue, the text of the certificate reads: [Congratulations / Presented to / Patricia G. Murphy / In Appreciation of More Than / 35 / Years of Professional Service to / Delta / 1966 – 2001]. The certificate includes the print and signature of then Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Leo F. Mullin, below which is a small black-and-white image of the original Delta Air Lines Travel Air 6B Sedan. On the reverse of the plaque are two holes for hanging.
